Our Story
Our First Date
12/02/2020In 2020, we went for a drive after Anna had a tough day and Kieran took her to McDonald’s for their first date. Being the gentleman that he is, he obviously paid.
Becoming Offical
14/02/2020From there, we were inseparable. We became ‘official’ on Valentine’s Day 2020 when Kieran finally plucked up the courage to ask Anna to be his girlfriend.
Our First Trip
10/07/2020We had about a month of ‘normal’ life before we took the leap and lived together throughout the pandemic. We went on our first staycation to Edinburgh in July 2020 to celebrate our birthdays. This became one of our favourite cities to visit.
The Proposal
16/08/2023In August 2023, after much pestering from Anna, Kieran proposed on a romantic walk while on holiday. She said yes! In true Anna style, she started planning the wedding the night of the engagement!
FAQs
What is the dress code?
We would love to see our family and friends get dressed up for our big day. The dress code is cocktail attire. Please no jeans, shorts or joggers.
Are there any colours I should avoid wearing ?
The wedding party will be wearing dusky blue so we politely ask our guests to avoid any shades of blue or traditional bridal colours
(white, ivory or cream).
Are children invited?
We love and adore your little ones, however, we have decided to keep our ceremony and reception an adults only event with the exception of a few that will be part of ourceremony.
We encourage you to use this night as a fun date night! We appreciate you making prior
arrangements so you can celebrate with us.
Can I bring a plus one?
Your invite wil be made out to” (Your Name) & Guest” if a plus one has been given to you.

What time should I arrive?
A time for the ceremony will be given on your formal invite and we ask that you arrive and be in your seat NO LATER THAN 15 minutes before the ceremony starts. You may arrive earlier than 15 minutes and it will give you time to park, sign the guest book and find a seat. If you arrive after the ceremony has started, you will not be able to enter the building until the ceremony has finished.
Can I share pictures of your big day on social media?
We kindly ask that you do not share any photos on social media of the wedding until either Anna or Kieran does so first.
Will there be a bar?
Yes! There will be a bar on site for you to purchase drinks throughout the night. We ask that you are patient and respect our staff.
Can I take pictures throughout the ceremony/reception?
To ensure we are all fully present, we will be having an “unplugged” ceremony. We request that you turn off/silence all phones during the ceremony. We have hired an amazing photographer to capture this special moment and we would be happy to send you any pictures upon request! During the evening reception, please feel free to take as many pictures as you would like!
Where do I park?
The South Causey Inn has onsite parking available – this is first come first served as there may be other weddings taking place the same day.
Can I stay overnight?
The South Causey Inn has onsite accommodation available.

All prices for rooms include bed and breakfast. If you require a price list before booking, contact us and we can provide you with the prices.
Do you have a wedding registry?
Having you with us on our special day is the best gift we could ask for. Though should you wish to help us keep the celebrations going, a cash gift towards our honeymoon fund would be greatly appreciated.
What should I do if I can’t make it?
Your presence will surely be missed. If you cannot attend, please let us know as soon as possible and RSVP “will NOT attend”, that way we can plan accordingly. Thank you!
What is the menu like?
We will not be having a traditional 3-course sit down meal, our menu consists of hot meat sandwiches – ‘Turkey Crown with sage and onion stuffing’, ‘Honey Glazed Gammon’ , gravy, floured buns, and chunky chips.
Be aware that as we are having an ‘‘evening wedding’ our food will not be served until 6/7pm.

Wedding Ceremony

Thursday 6th August 2026, 2:30pm-3:00pm
The wedding ceremony will be taking place in the Durham Suite at the South Causey Inn. The ceremony will start at 3:30pm we ask if you can be seated 15 minutes before the start. A gentle reminder this is an "unplugged ceremony" so please keep mobiles switched off.
Wedding Party
South Causey Inn, Stanley DH9 0LS
Thursday 6th August 2026, 3:00pm-11:00pm
The wedding will follow straight after the ceremony above in the adjoining room. There are welcome drinks available of either a beer or mimosa. There will be signage available to guide you to your table.
